Why do Christians use the laws of thermodynamics as evidence for Jesus and God?
I hear many Christians who use the laws of thermodynamics, specifically the second law, as "evidence" for their god's existance. I even had a teacher back in high school who said that the second law of thermo justifies "creation science" as he put it, and at the time I didn't really didn't know enough to refute him when he said that entropy was "chaos" or "disorganization". The Second Law basically says that the entropy of the universe is increasing, and that entropy is energy that no longer can preform mechanical work. The second law provides irrefutable evidence that the universe as we know it had a beginning, but how does it support the notion that the universe was created by a creature or a spirit? If anyone out there has used thermodynamics to support the claim that god exists I would like to hear your explanation.
