What sensory neuron detects water?

Is it the touch neuron? I need to know as I'm doing a literature review for my assignment on the Mammalian Diving Reflex, and part of the stimuli is the detection of water on the face, as well as the sensation of cold through thermo-receptors in the skin and nasal cavity.
